No-exam life insurance
Clarity on which applicants are eligible for expedited underwriting, how the process operates, and your options if you don't meet the criteria.
Multiple carriers have launched accelerated underwriting programs: for applicants meeting age and benefit thresholds, they render a decision based on the application, prescription information, driving records and similar sources—no paramedical exam needed. Some approvals come through within hours. Every quote here flags whether a medical exam is mandatory, optional, or not necessary for each specific product.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no underwriting. Your answers are validated against independent sources. A policy issued based on false information can be denied within the first two years. If the carrier's research flags issues, it might request an exam or tests anyway—you can then choose your next step.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under about 60 seeking benefits within the carrier's accelerated limit, with no significant health events and no tobacco/nicotine use for a year or longer, qualify. Some carriers will substitute recent bloodwork from a doctor's visit for a paramedical exam.
If an exam is required, a paramedical examiner typically visits your home or office for 20 to 30 minutes at no charge. Healthy results can actually raise your rate class, so an exam isn't necessarily unfavorable.
